You want more things? We’ve got more things! Here at CZWG Core, work is always happening in the background to improve things. And with 1.4.3, we’ve got things!
Training Just Got Easier!
- The biggest addition – students can now book times with their instructors for training, live in the FIR’s website. Instructors submit their availability (which can be edited at any time), and students can click “book” on their dashboard page.
- Bookings are done in 1 hour-long slots, but there is no limit to slots/bookings.
- When a student books a slot, it will show as “pending” until their Instructor confirms that slot on their side.
- Staff can access and see, edit, cancel training bookings and delete instructor’s open time, just in case something breaks (which, is very possible).
In Other News…
- By heading to your preferences (via your Dashboard), you can now set your time zone to get local times in places like events, ATC bookings, training slots and more.
- VATSIM Bookings are here! If you’re a controller, head to the ATC Bookings page and reserve a slot somewhere if you want. It doesn’t really hold any value (you can’t say “I booked it! You can’t control it!” if someone beats you to it), but it does show on websites like VATSIM Radar that you’re planning to log on, which is neat.
- Staff can edit event rosters! Would you believe that wasn’t an option before? We know. Insane.
- Dark mode has arrived! Click the sun/moon in the navbar to get a new look. There are still a few places where it looks a bit broken, but we’ll get there.
- We moved the email preferences to be combined with the time zone selection in the preferences page. They were separate before.
- The website footer got a nice little refresh! Nothing big to report here. Just a little visual improvement.
- As per VATCAN/VATSIM’s new standards for activity, some small upgrades have been made there for activity tracking, on both the controller management system and on everyone’s dashboard.
- Taking a break? If you’re staff, that can make things confusing, until now – a new out of office option exists now for redirecting people to the right person if you’re off
- Oh… and there’s a notification system now. Check the navbar next to your profile for updates like roster adjustments, training, events and more important stuff!
