The Winnipeg FIR is Hiring! Currently seeking a qualified member of VATSIM to join the staff as the Facility Engineer!
The Facility Engineer is expected to:
- Report to the FIR Chief on a regular basis
- Is responsible for the regular maintenance of the FIRs sector file
- Provide regular updates of the FIRs sector file(s) to the VATCAN’s executive team
- Provide regular updates of the FIRs sector file(s) to the FIR membership that include AIRAC updates
- Assist the Winnipeg FIR membership with issues surrounding Euroscope and the sector files
- Implementation of evolving technologies as developed by VATSIM and VATCAN
- Assist the Winnipeg FIR staff for the planning and implementation of large events
- Monitor the VATSIM channels such as Discord and VATSIM Forums
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently be an active member of Vatcan
- Always eager and willing to learn
- Familiar with editing software such as Notepad++ or VS Code to produce and edit sector files
- Well versed in FIR SOPs, and VATCAN/VATSIM Policy Documents
- Excellent Oral and Written Communications Skills
- Ability to lead a team of people effectively
- Be in good terms with VATSIM, VATCAN and the Flight Information Region with no disciplinary actions within last 2 years
